Friday morning the students in the theology of Worship led the service. Student’s are always a bit nervous when in total control of the chapel (or so it seems from an outside observer) even though they normally provide the bulk of every chapel. Leadership carries with it a greater weight i guess.
The service included a short message and communion. The message was a taken from John 12 and included a comparison of the differences in how the other gospels handled the same story, primarily that of Judas and Lazarus. Very insightful. Read John 12 and Mark 14 to see if you can find the difference. I will give you a hint, the setting appears different but Mary is there in both. What she does, the aftermath and the finishing focus of the passage is striking.
